Join your fellow pharts for the all-new, improved Phartathon (sequel to Fish ‘N Phart 2001 http://mvseabird.com/fishnphart.htm) to be held on the waters of Tampa Bay, Sarasota Bay and isolated sand bars in the general vicinity of same.

April 19 - 23

Phart Pfloat Plan

April 19 - Fly to Tampa Intl. airport and proceed forthwith to the Vinoy Hotel and Marina in St. Petersburg to join resident Phart, Admiral Bird and SeaBird II.

Dinner at the Vinoy, one of St. Petersburg's historic hotels, followed by the usual pharting around.

April 20 - Disembark from the Vinoy and cruise to the brink of the ocean (OK so its the gulf), under the Skyway Bridge through lower Tampa Bay, anchoring off Egmont Key for lunch, followed by a guided historical tour of the Key including the WWI bunkers, sand, birds, crabs and sea oats. www.floridastateparks.org/egmontkey/

In the afternoon, motor through the awe inspiring reaches of the Intra-coastal waterway, past such landmarks as Anna Maria Island, Beer Can Island, Jewfish Key and Sister Key to a berth at Sarasota's Marina Jacks for a dockside dinner and a magical evening, featuring entertainment by the Magical Mariner hisself and some cronies.

April 21 - Pfishing in the Gulf of Mexico for Kingfish, Barracuda, Grouper and (for some) minnows.

Return from the sea to Longboat Key Moorings for tonight's berthing. http://www.longboatkeymoorings.com/ Dinner at Café on the Bay.

April 22 - Shore Leave - A day enjoying Fabulous Features Fit for Pharts offered by the premier Phart friendly area in the nation, where driving with your turn signal on is an inalienable right. The day's activities will include a trip to the track, jungle and fish tank.

Dinner at the Winter White House.

April 23 - Disembark for Tampa and the return to normalcy.

Details – Southwest & Northwest seem to have the best connections from KC to Tampa. Overnight accommodations will be six Pharts aboard SeaBird II, with the remainder in a hotel at or near the marina. This can be handled by preference or phart-lotto, as desired. Sponsorships for dinner, booze and fishing are available. I will provide more detail on costs, exclusive of airfare in the near future.
